BMC women compete in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (Leaderboard) Blue Mountain College Women’s Bowling competed for the first time as an NAIA squad here Saturday and Sunday in the Louisville Classic, coming in 16th as a team.

Halie Hatfield (SO/Blue Springs, Miss.) led BMC in 78th with a tournament total of 788.  Ashlan Williams (FR/Mantachie, Miss.) was behind her in 83rd with a 766 two-day total, Madison Laney (JR/Pontotoc, Miss.) finished 93rd with a total of 714, Taylor Dawe (FR/New Albany, Miss.)s finished 95th at 698, Caitlyn Kelly (SO/Pontotoc, Miss.) finished 124th at 473 and Chasity Cook (FR/Starkville, Miss.) finished 154th with a total of 125.

For the USBC, there was a total of 156 bowlers at the event, with 19 teams overall competing.

“It was a great day of competition,” BMC head coach Creighton Nelms said.  “It’s good to get our feet wet in a big event like this.  It helps us to know what adjustments we need to make as the season progresses.”

BMC returns to the lanes October 26-27 at the Smyrna Classic in Smyrna, Tenn.
