Bulldogs Bowling Announces 2020-21 Schedules

Bowling Schedules: Women’s l Men’s

ADRIAN, Mich.–Adrian College third-year bowling head coach Darrin Griewahn has unveiled the Bulldogs men’s and women’s schedules for the 2020-21 season, which is highlighted by a home tournament in January.

The Bulldogs will begin the pandemic-shortened season on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9-10, with the Adrian College/Siena Heights University Classic at the Lenawee Recreation Bowling Center. Both Adrian teams were the runners-up at this event in their respective division a season ago.

The women’s team, which ended up fifth in the 2020 national rankings by ClubTeamBowling.com, returns five of the top-seven average scorers including sophomore Abigail Bird who rolled a 173.73 average for second on the team last season. On the men’s side, the Bulldogs are led by senior Jansen Stone who averaged 181.127 knocked-down pins for fourth overall and helped the team to a No. 17 national ranking.

The tentative schedule also includes the KEGEL ISBPA Collegiate Classic in Addison Ill. (Jan. 16-17), three American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (AHIBC) tournaments (Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 27), Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Ind. (Feb. 19-20),

The regular season will conclude with the March 20-21 Leatherneck Classic at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill.

Dates and sites for the AHIBC, United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team & Singles and Collegiate Club Championships are still to be determined for the spring.

Adrian’s truncated docket–which usually starts in September or October–includes 11 planned events, which is subject to change. The AC Athletics Department will continue to monitor the health and safety of student-athletes and staff as its top priority during the ongoing pandemic, and will follow local and state guidelines from public health officials.
