Alley Toppers finish 11th at Cincinnati Collegiate Classic

CINCINNATI, Ohio – (Anthony Latessa, MSC) Martin Methodist (Tenn.) won the second Mid-South Conference Men’s Bowling Tournament of the season Sunday at the Cincinnati Collegiate Classic on at Western Bowl, while Blue Mountain men would finish third.

The RedHawks totaled 9,874 pins over the two-day event led by Hayden Stippich who finished runner-up with 2,051 total pins. Tennessee Wesleyan finished second with 9,590 pins while Bethel (Tenn.) place third with 9,412 pins.

Thomas More’s (Ky.) Jacob Toelke won the individual title with 2,100 pins and a tournament-high score of 298 in the seventh game.

Marin (Ind.) placed fourth with 9,329 pins, Pikeville (Ky.) finished fifth with 9,243 pins while Thomas More totaled 9,172 pins to finish sixth.

Cumberlands (Ky.) was seventh with 8,813 pins, Life (Ga.) was eighth with 8,710 pins while Midway (Ky.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) round out the top-10 with 8,518 and 8,514 pins, respectively.

Blue Mountain’s Shawn Green (SR/Jackson, Miss.) was 25th with 1,835 pins, followed by Lucas Hartigan (JR/Tupelo, Miss.) in 27th with 1,820 pins.

Through two MSC events, Tennessee Wesleyan sits atop the standings with a 23-2 record. Marian currently sits in second in the standings with a 22-3 record while Bethel is third with a 20-5 record.

The next MSC Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 6-7 in Smyrna, Tennessee.
