Alley Toppers 12th at Burns Memorial; Turberville and Hartigan nab Top 20

SMYRNA, Tenn. – (MSC Reports) (ResultsMarian (Ind.) won the third Mid-South Conference Men’s Bowling Tournament of the season Sunday at the Brandon Burns Memorial at Smyrna Bowling Center, while the Alley Toppers of Blue Mountain finished 12 out of 15 teams..

The two-day tournament consisted of six team games on Saturday and 16 baker games on Sunday.

The Knights totaled 9,513 pins over the two-day event led by Jeffery Mann who finished runner-up with 1,354 total pins. Pikeville (Ky.) finished second with 9,356 pins while Tennessee Wesleyan was third totaling 9,156 pins.

Pikeville’s Parker Spencer won the individual title with 1,364 pins with a high of 246 in the second game.

Blue Mountain’s Drew Turberville (JR/Tupelo, Miss.) and Lucas Hartigan (JR/Tupelo, Miss.) put together Top 20 finishes, with Turberville finishing 14th overall with 1,249 total pins and Hartigan placing 19th overall with 1,212 total pins.

Thomas More (Ky.) placed fourth with 9,080 pins, Life (Ga.) finished fifth with 9,042 pins while Bethel totaled 8,997 pins to finish sixth.

Martin Methodist (Tenn.) was seventh with 8,972 pins, Cumberlands (Ky.) was eighth with 8,872 pins while Shawnee State (Ohio) and Campbellsville (Ky.) round out the top-10 with 8,675 and 8,477 pins, respectively.

Through three MSC events, Marian sits atop the standings with a 36-3 record. Tennessee Wesleyan is currently in second with a 35-4 record while Pikeville is third at 32-7.

The final two regular season MSC Tournaments are scheduled for Feb. 27 and 28 in Louisville Ky.
