Firestorm Bowling Competes for Arizona Cup

Glendale, AZ- The Arizona Christian University bowling team competed in two bowling tournaments over the weekend of February 20-21. Due to the pandemic, the four Arizona bowling schools – Arizona State, Grand Canyon, Ottawa, and Arizona Christian University met on the lanes for the first time this year. The Arizona Cup consisted of two tournaments, one on Saturday and one on Sunday, hosted at ACU’s Home Alley, Bowlero Glendale, 59th Avenue and Bell.

In the team competition, Arizona State finished first and Grand Canyon finished second on both days with Arizona Christian University claiming third place in both tournaments. In the medalist competition, Brock Bivins finished third in the Saturday event and sixth in the Sunday competition. Fellow freshman CJ Todeschi finished 9th on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. In the ALL-STAR cumulative competition covering all tournaments, Bivins is currently sitting in third place overall with a 217 average, with Todeschi sixth with a 209 average.

The team continues to improve in both individual and team competition. Currently six bowlers represent ACU: Juniors Xavier Watkins and David Waybright, and Freshmen Brock Bivins, Jake Creek, Jacob Ellis and CJ Todeschi. Next year, four new bowlers have already committed to joining the team. Roll Storm!
