Baker University – Wildcats Compete Well at Clash of the Spartans

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – At the Clash of the Spartans tournament, both Baker bowling teams took second place before traveling to Las Vegas in mid-December.

On the men’s side, the men posted a record of 13-4, knocking down 6,706 pins and earning an average of 197.24. Doing so, the team qualified second for bracket play. After a bye in the first round, the Wildcats fell to Clarke, 221-166 and 178-166 to end the tournament for the Wildcats.

For the women, the Wildcats knocked down the most pins of any team in qualifying play, but went 7-10 and qualified in seventh place with an average score of 187.26. Baker then beat No. 10 St. Mary, No. 2 Ottawa and No. 3 Columbia as they found themselves in the championship match against No. 5 Grand View.

The women were able to take Grand View to seven games but Grand View would win the seventh match, 181-158 as the women finished in second place for the tournament.

Both Baker bowling teams will be back in action on Dec. 18-21, when they travel to Las Vegas, Nev., to compete in both the Glen Carlson Invitational and the Collegiate Shoot-Out.
