Alley Toppers opened 2022 at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic

BMC Men competed in Chicago over the weekend

CHICAGO, Ill. – (Team Results) (Individual Results) Blue Mountain Men’s Bowling scored a top 40 finish here over the weekend at the Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic, coming in 32nd out of 68 teams.

The Alley Toppers had a total pin of 4,885, with Cole Tomlin (SR/Kossuth, Miss.) leading individually tied at 39th with a 1,087 total pinfall.

The Toppers saw Drew Turberville (JR/Tupelo, Miss.) bowl one of the best games in its history; a 297 in the first game.  Turberville started the day with 11 straight strikes, while the 297 was the best game for anyone out of 336 bowlers.  He would finish the event in 58th place with a total of 1,057.

Lucas Hartigan (SR/Tupelo, Miss.) was 145th for BMC, with a total of 951 and best game of 215.

Josh Turberville (FR/Tupelo, Miss.) was 182nd, totaling 916 pins and bowling a best game of 223.

Peter Moore (JR/Marietta, Miss.) would place 320th with a total of 556 and a best game of 234 to round out the Toppers event.

BMC head coach Creighton Nelms commented, “I was really proud of the team this past weekend.  We came out and competed with the best teams in the country.  Drew started the day off with 11 straight strikes and finished with that 297 to really propel us.  Cole Tomlin finally had a breakout weekend and led the team.  Overall, it was a great start to the 2022 season.”

Blue Mountain will return to the lanes Saturday and Sunday at the MSC Cincinnati Collegiate Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio.  No fans will be allowed at the event due to Covid protocols.
