ADDISON, Ill. — The Adrian College men’s and women’s bowling teams traveled to Illinois over the weekend for a two-day tournament at the KEGEL/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic. Teams from Division I, Division II, and Division III all competed in the event. Out of 57 teams on the women’s side, the Bulldogs placed 34th. Out of 68 teams on the men’s side, Adrian placed 29th and defeated all the school in the conference.
Griffin Reynard led the Bulldogs with a 39th place finish out of 432 bowlers and a score of 1087. His performance was highlighted in game one where he shot a 286 followed by 172 in game two, a 242 in game three, a 150 in game four, and a 232 in game five. Cameron Klein placed 77th with a 1029 led by his high of 244 in game four followed by a 226 in game five. Jacob Harvey placed 104th with a 997 with the help up a 241 in game two while David Winters recorded an 871 and Reed Scripter bowled in 564 in three games.
Abigail Bird led the way for the women finished 17th out of 342 bowlers. She shot a 1045 with a 203 in game one, a 234 in game two, a 226 in game three, a 201 in game four, and a 181 in game five. Kylie Middleton placed 25th in the tournament with a 1018. Her highest score game in game two were she shot a 244 followed by a 223 in game two. Kailee Treloar shot an 829 for Adrian to place 171st followed by a 745 from Nicole Discenna and a three-game 432 by Brittney Passmore.
“This team will not quit and they keep fighting til the end,” said head coach Darrin Griewahn. “I am very proud to be called their coach.
Adrian’s next competition will be at the AHIBC No. 4 on Saturday, January 22.
