Vanderbilt Bowling | Vandy Announces 2022-23 Schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt bowling program unveiled a familiar, yet challenging, 2022-23 schedule Wednesday.

The slate includes three fall events ahead of six regular-season tournaments in 2023 for the defending Southland Bowling League champions and 2022 third-place finishers at the NCAA Tournament.

Vandy, led by veteran head coach John Williamson, begins its journey at the end of October with a trip to New York to compete in the Dezy Strong Classic (Oct. 28-30). The Commodores won that event in 2021.

The fall season ends with the Dores bowling at the MOTIV Ladyjacks Classic in Wisconsin (Nov. 11-13) and the Hawk Classic (Nov. 18-20) in Delaware. Vandy finished third and fourth, respectively, at those two events last season.

The Commodores are scheduled to compete in three January tournaments starting with the Stormin’ Blue and White Vegas Classic (Jan. 8-10)  in Nevada and followed by the Northeast Classic (Jan. 20-22) in New Jersey. Vandy won last season’s Northeast Classic.

On Jan. 27-29, Vanderbilt heads to Texas to take part in the Prairie View Invitational (Jan. 27-29).

In February, Vandy will return to Texas for the Lady Techster Classic (Feb. 10-12) and then compete in the Stallings Invitational (Feb. 24-26) in North Carolina. The Dores claimed the tournament title at the Stallings last season.

The regular season concludes March 17-19 when Vanderbilt hosts its prestigious Music City Classic in Smyrna.

Vandy’s postseason run begins March 23-25 with the Southland Championship. The 2023 NCAA Regional weekend is scheduled for April 7-8 while the NCAA Championship moves to Las Vegas this season and runs from April 14-15.

Vanderbilt returns key bowlers in senior Mabel Cummins, juniors Caroline Thesier, Jennifer Loredo and Amanda Naujokas and sophomore Paige Peters to the program this season. It also added a trio of highly-touted freshmen to bolster the depth of the squad.
