Wildcats Finish Fifth in MSC Baker Shootout


RICHMOND, Ky. – The Bethel men’s bowling team finished fifth (7,596 pins) in the MSC Baker Shootout on Sunday at Galaxy Lanes in Richmond, Kentucky.

Pikeville won the event.

The tournament consisted of 40 baker games with the first 20 being bowled yesterday and the final 20 bowled today.

Pikeville totaled 8,299 pins beating out runner-up Tennessee Southern by 164 pins. Midway (Ky.) finished third with 7,970 pins while Cumberlands (Ky.) placed fourth with 7,684 pins.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) was sixth with 7,522 pins, Tennessee Wesleyan tallied 7,467 pins to finish seventh and Union (Ky.) was eighth with 7,383 pins.

Campbellsville (Ky.) was ninth with 7,343 pins while non-conference Southeastern Illinois was 10th with 7,307 pins. Thomas More (Ky.), Cumberland (Tenn.) and Shawnee State (Ohio) round out the MSC teams in the standings. The Saints finished 11th while the Phoenix and the Bears finished in 13th and 16th, respectively.

Tennessee Southern took home the JV title with 7,807 pins.

The next MSC tournament is scheduled for October 22-23 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
