Garden City, N.Y. – As the calendar has turned to October, the Adelphi University women’s bowling season is upon us.

The Panthers, who narrowly missed out on an ECC Championship in 2021-22, is set to return to a familiar schedule in 2022-23 that will include cross-country trips to Wisconsin, Texas and Tennessee.

“We are super excited for our fall and spring slate of tournaments this season,” Head Coach Dennis Kearney said. “The schedule this year was built to compete against some of the best right out of the gate.”

Adelphi will first defend last year’s Baker and traditional trophies at the Sacred Heart University Bowl for a Cure, where the 2022-23 campaign will get underway, next week (Oct. 15-16) in Fairfield, Conn.

In a similar fashion to 2021-22, Kearney’s squad will once again invite a slew of powerhouse schools to Long Island for the second-annual DezyStrong Classic, in honor of Kearney’s long-time friend and cancer fighter, Matt ‘Dezy’ DiStefano.

As the holiday break starts to turn the corner, the Panthers will head to the SFA Ladyjack Classic (Nov. 11-13) in Kenosha, Wis. and Hawk Classic Invitational (Nov. 18-20) in Millsboro, Del. on back-to-back weekends in November.

A visit to the Northeast Classic in Deptford, N.J. will shed the curtain on the New Year, to go along with a couple of other local trips to the New Jersey Open and Molloy’s Lions’ Roar for Cancer Society.

With the season winding down towards the ECC Championships, Adelphi is set to venture to Dallas for the Lady Techsters Classic (Feb. 10-12) and Nashville for the Music City Classic (Mar. 17-19).

Upon the team’s flight home from Nashville, the ECC Championships will be the next and last tournament on tap, with Adelphi and Coram Country Lanes again tapped as the proud host.

The Panthers reached the ECC Championship Mega-Match last season, only to fall to Wilmington University in the first two rounds of the best-of-three contest.

“This schedule will challenge our athletes against the top competition in the country, and gives them the opportunity to showcase why they belong on the same lanes as some of the premier Division I programs,” Kearney concluded.
