National Intercentre Final Preview & Results Hub

The Browns Bay Bowling Club will host the 2022 National Intercentre final this weekend.

After a unique set of circumstances caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, this years national final will be contested by six winning regional teams.

These teams all won their way through to contest the national final by defeating their geographically near rivals, and will now battle it out over the course of two days to be crowned the 2022 Intercentre Champion team.

Competition will be fierce with a number of current and former New Zealand players and title holders competing for their Centres.

Battling it out for the women’s title will be defending champions Nelson, they will be joined in the national final by Central Otago, Gisborne East Coast, Thames Valley, Wellington and North Harbour.

The defending champions for the men’s title, Southland, have also qualified for the national final.

They will face Wellington, Malborough, Hawke’s Bay, Bay of Plenty and Auckland in their battle to retain the silverware.

Browns Bay is no stranger to hosting national events, and their near perfect maniototo greens allow for a high standard of play to be achieved; spectators are welcome to attend this event.

Playing schedule:

Day One (15 Oct) : Three rounds starting at 9 am, 12.15 pm and 3.30 pm

Day Two (16 Oct): Two rounds starting at 9 am and 12.15 pm

The Browns Bay Bowling Club kitchen will be open for food purchases each day, and the bar open from 11 am.

Bowls New Zealand will also broadcast rounds two to five, links to this broadcast will become available below in due course.
