Davis in Top-25, Lady Hornets Finish in 15th at Colonial Lanes Classic


NEW ORLEANS, La. | The Alabama State women’s bowling team wrapped up the 2022 Colonial Lanes Classic in 15th place out of 15 teams competing at the event. Despite the last-place finish, senior Emani Davis placed 22nd, giving the Lady Hornets a top-25 finisher.

Alabama State started off traditional play with a 1,045-934 loss to Louisiana Tech but followed up with a 904-809 win over Southern University. The Lady Hornets dropped the remaining two traditional matches to North Carolina A&T and Lincoln Memorial.

Emani Davis led Hornets with a 22nd-place individual finish with an average game of 191.20, followed by her teammate Emily Price in 32nd place with a 179.40 average.

Alahna Degruy bowled an average 175 for a 38th-place finish while Bailee Chapman rounded out in 43rd place with a five-game average of 170.40. 

Lyric O’Steen ended play in 74th place followed by Gabrielle Moore in 84th place. 

NEXT UP

The Lady Hornets look to regain momentum as they head to Houston, Texas on Nov. 4-6 for the Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State.
