Huskers in Second After Day One at Bearcat Roto Grip Open


Fairview, Ill. – The Nebraska bowling team went 3-2 on Friday at the Bearcat Roto Grip Open with a total pinfall of 4,843. The Huskers finished the day in second place.   

 

The Big Red, who is third in the NTCA poll, won against Kentucky Wesleyan (1,024-825), Quincy (976-893) and Mercyhurst (1,157-916), which included an astounding near perfect 298 game. The Huskers took two losses against No. 21 Central Missouri (813-854) and No. 1 Mckendree (873-967). 

NU will resume play tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. (CT) against Tusculum in a traditional match, followed by matches against No. 25 Newman, Upper Iowa, No. 25 Lincoln Memorial and a bye match to finish the day. 

Results from Friday and Saturday along with an additional traditional match Sunday morning will determine the seeding for Sunday’s Championship bracket. During this championship tournament each team will compete in a best four-of-seven Baker style match beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
