Huskers in Third After Day One of SFA Ladyjack Classic


Kenosha, Wis. – The Nebraska bowling team went 2-3 on Friday at the Motiv Ladyjack Classic with a total pinfall of 5,231. The Huskers finished the day in third place.     

The Big Red, who is third in the NTCA poll, defeated No. 25 Newman (1,099-961) and Carthage College (1,157-879). The Huskers took three losses against No.1 McKendree (1,045-1,146), No. 15 Maryville (941-1,071) and No. 6 Arkansas State (989-1,066).  

NU will resume play tomorrow at 9:25 a.m. (CT) against North Central College in a traditional match, followed by matches against No. 4 SFA, Marian University, No. 9 Youngstown State, Valparaiso and No. 2 Vanderbilt to finish the day.   

Total pin results from Friday and Saturday, in addition to three five-game-baker style matches Sunday morning, will determine the seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship games beginning at 8:30 a.m. where each team will play three additional five-game baker matches followed by one final best-of-seven baker match for final placements.
