Kenosha, Wis. – The Nebraska bowling team went 3-2 on Saturday at the Motiv Ladyjack Classic, bringing their overall standings to 5-5 with a total pinfall of 10,299. The Huskers currently stand in fifth place.
The Big Red defeated North Central College (868-769), Marian (1,049-841), and No. 9 Youngstown State (1,050-1,045), but dropped close matches to No.4 SFA (1,063-1,068) and No. 2 Vanderbilt (1,038-1,045).
NU will resume play tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. (CT) against UW Whitewater in a five-game-baker match, followed by matches against Valparaiso and No. 20 Lewis.
Total pin results from Friday and Saturday, in addition to the final three five-game-baker style matches Sunday morning, will determine the seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship games where each team will play one final best-of-seven baker match for final placements.
Two Huskers currently sit in the top 25 of the individual standings after today’s five traditional matches. Freshman Jillian Martin is in fifth with a total pinfall of 1,136. Senior Kendyl Hofmeister currently holds 21st with a pinfall of 1,058.
