The NCAA national office released the 2020-21 Graduation Success Rate report for the 2012-13 -2015-16 cohorts for all NCAA Division I institutions as part of the annual Academic Performance Program.

Alabama State student-athletes graduated at an 83 percent rate during that time, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics had multiple teams graduate 83 percent or more of their student-athletes during that same time period.

Among those programs with an 85 percent or higher GSR score, three sports recorded perfect 100 percent rates – women’s bowling, women’s golf and women’s tennis during the time span. Two other programs – women’s soccer, and softball each finished at 96 percent or higher, while women’s basketball graduated 91 percent and women’s cross country 88 percent of their student-athletes during that time period.

The Graduation Success Rate data shows the percentage of student-athletes earning a degree within six years of entering college. The NCAA developed the Graduation Success Rate to account for student-athletes not tracked by the federal graduation rate, which includes transfers into Alabama State and student-athletes who transferred from Alabama State in good academic standing.
