Huskers Round Out Recruit Class with Ashtyn Yoches

Lincoln – The Nebraska bowling team announced the signing of Ashtyn Yoches (Prairieville, La.) on Sunday as the final recruit for the 2023-24 season.

A three-time captain of the Prairieville high school bowling team, Yoches joins the Huskers as the fourth and final recruit of the 2023-2024 season. Alongside three years of marching band and dance, Yoches brings a strong resume of achievements and a personal dream of bowling for the Huskers.

Yoches, a native of Prairieville, La., is a 2021 Girls Bowling Star of Stars recipient as well as the 2021 District MVP. Through high school, she was a three-time member of the All-District first team and was a two-time state semifinalist.

“We are all happy that Ashtyn has decided to join our program for the 2023-24 season,” Head Coach Paul Klempa said. “Ashtyn has a tremendous support system and has become a very good competitive player over the course of the last few years. We are lucky to add Ashtyn to our recruiting class and look for her to have an impact early on in her career. Ashtyn really wanted to be a Husker and that is always an appealing trait for us in recruiting.”

Academically, Yoches is also very competitive as she is currently a member of the National Honor Society and holds three high school bowling letters. Upon her arrival, Yoches will begin her degree towards a career in Education and Human Sciences on a Pre-Law track.

“I chose Nebraska because of the capability to receive a great education,” Yoches said. “At UNL, I have the potential to further my education to eventual law school, compete on a nationally-ranked team, further my athletic career and be able to embrace all that Nebraska has to offer.”

Ashtyn is the daughter of Aimee and Brian Yoches and has two older brothers, Sean and Taylor.
