Aquinas Men Finish in 39th at Kegel-ISBPA Midwest Classic


Addison, Ill. – The men’s bowling team was back in action this weekend (Jan. 14-15) for the first time in 2023. The guys competed in the annual Kegel-ISBPA Midwest Classic at Stardust Lanes. The Saints finished the first day in 37th place after bowling a team-total of 4,843 pins. On the second day, AQ bowled a 3,830 pins over 20 baker games to total 8,673 pins and finish in 39th place.

AQ’s 20 baker games scores consisted of 137, 125, 144, 195, 175, 255, 171, 225, 205, 203, 207, 161, 215, 190, 231, 186, 179, 245, 200, and 181.

Michael Deming was the top-ranked bowler for the Saints at Stardust Lanes. He bowled a 235, 192, 187, 236, and 202 over his five games to total 1,052 pins. His 210.4 pin-per-game average landed him in 62nd place at the event with 469 bowlers.

Brandon Foster finished in 113th place with a total of 989 pins. He bowled a 219, 180, 167, 243, and 180 to average 197.8 pins per game.

Jonathan Garland also bowled five games, totaling 962 pins with a 192.4 pin-per-game average. He finished in 144th place after game scores of 195, 170, 201, 252, and 144.

James Ruoff totaled 914 pins with games scores of 106, 240, 180, 211, and 177. His 182.8 pin-per-game average landed him in 180th place.

Dylan Vermilyea bowled four games for the Saints, scoring a 200, 166, 185, and 155. He finished in 284th place with 706 total pins, averaging 176.5 pins per game.

Jack Wicker bowled just one game for Aquinas but scored a 220 in his one game. His 220 game landed him in 424th place.

Aquinas is off for a couple of weeks, but returns to the lanes on February 4th to compete in the fourth and final WHAC Jamboree. The event is hosted by Lourdes and will take place at Southwyck Lanes in Toledo, Ohio.
