LINCOLN, Neb. (3/3/23) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team went 5-0 in head-to-head Baker matches defeating three top-25 teams to open the Big Red Invite hosted by Nebraska.
A-State (57-26) opened the competition with a 1,131-1,111 triumph against Wisconsin-Whitewater. The Red Wolves followed with a convincing 1,027-923 margin against Central Missouri and a 1,037-975 victory against Valparaiso moved A-State to 3-0. The Red Wolves downed Quincy 1,035-987 and met host Nebraska in the final Baker match of the day coming away with a 1,087-1,065 win.
Entering day two, A-State is second behind the host Huskers in total pinfall. Nebraska was 2-3 on the day, but leads the field with 5,368 pins for an average of 214.7. The Red Wolves total of 5,317 pins is second for an average of 212.7 with Wisconsin-Whitewater third with 5,095 (203.8)
