Bulldogs to Host CIAA Event III This Weekend


BOWIE, Md. – The defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) champions Bowie State women’s bowling team will host the final regular season event this weekend as the Bulldogs welcome all seven CIAA institutions to the CIAA Event III at the AMF Southdale Lanes in Pasadena, Md.

The three-day event will begin on Friday, Mar. 10 with team matches at 10:40 a.m. Senior recognition will take place on Saturday, Mar. 11 at 8:15 a.m. The Bulldogs will recognize two seniors Olivia Watts and Erin Pearson. Traditional matches will start at approximately 9 a.m. Following award presentation at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 12 – Baker matches will start at 9 a.m.

The Bulldogs (37-12, 32-4 CIAA) currently sit in first place among the Northern Division with a 24-0 record and will likely win its eight consecutive division title. Bowie State is coming off a 8-4 performance during the CIAA Round-Up in Fayetteville, N.C. Three of the four losses came against Fayetteville State an opponent that has turned into a rival for BSU. Watts (233) and junior Chalia Gray (228) ranked top-10 for the top-200 scorers individually during the round-up.
