NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The 2022-23 CCIW All-Conference awards for women’s bowling have been announced, with Madelyn Lathrop earning First Team All-CCIW and head coach Marty Resner named the Co-Coach of the Year.

Lathrop, a sophomore from Sycamore, Ill., has earned all-conference honors for the second straight season. She finished the year fifth in the CCIW in PCPI (Player Composite Performance Index), scoring average, and fill percentage. Additional conference ranks include: first in anchor Baker 10th frame fill, third in make percentage, and sixth in both strike percentage in single pin percentage. In the 2022-23 opening tournament in Fort Atkinson, Wis., Lathrop placed fifth and earned all-tournament honors. She anchored the team throughout the weekend, recording a game-high of 216 and averaging 188.6 for the Vikings. She also took top 40 at the 5 Seasons Classic out of 116 bowlers and later took 21st out of 393 bowlers at the Midwest Classic in Addison, Ill. Her four clean games ties herself for most in a single season, which she also did in 2021-22.

Resner is this year’s CCIW Co-Coach of the Year, joining Katelyn Zwiefelhofer from Carthage and Melissa Mutters from  Illinois Wesleyan. Resner led the Vikings to a tie for third in the conference this year, tying their best finish ever in the CCIW in program history. Due to tiebreaker, they narrowly missed out of qualifying for the conference championships. Along with their team standing, the Vikings also broke several records this season, including most wins, best Baker performance, and tallying the program’s 100th win.

Team broke this season:

  • 34 wins (previous high was 23 in 20-21])
  • Total clean baker game count of 9 (previous 6, set last season)
  • Four-game baker record with an 822 (previous 782, set in 2018)
  • Baker game-high record 254 (previous 253, set 1/9/2020)
  • Single-tournament baker average of 178.7 (previous 178.4)

Augustana ended the year with four top-four tournament finishes. Additionally, Samantha Novak was named the recipient of the conference’s RESPECT Award.
