BOWLING ADVANCES TO DAY 2 OF CACC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH A SPLIT


EAST NORRITON, Pa.- (March 24, 2023) – The Bloomfield College women’s bowling team posted a split on day one of the inaugural Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship.
 
In the opening round, the #3 seeded Bears squared off with #6 seeded Holy Family University in a mega match. The Friday morning contest began with Bloomfield winning the traditional format 847-561 to take a 1-0 lead. When the match moved to baker format the Bears again took the victory, 1030-563 to win the match 2-0 and advance in the bracket. The baker game marked Bloomfield’s first 1,000+ pinfall series of the year and was led by a 239 from Jessica Goldberg (West Milford, NJ).

The Bears advanced to face #2 seeded Chestnut Hill College in another mega match played in the afternoon. The Griffins topped Bloomfield 1024-933 in the traditional game and then 868-841 in the baker format to defeat the Bears, 2-0 and put them in jeopardy heading into Day 2 of the double elimination tournament.

         Baker – Bloomfield: 841 | Chestnut Hill: 868

The women’s bowling team will compete on Day 2 at 8:30 am as they face #5 seeded Felician University in an elimination match. The Golden Falcons fell in their opening round mega match against the #4 seed, Caldwell University.
