Bowling Concludes Turbulent Season at ECC Championship

Coram, N.Y. – With the tournament in its own backyard for a second-consecutive year, the Adelphi University women’s bowling team wrapped up the 2022-23 campaign at Coram Country Lanes for the ECC Championships.

As the Panthers now gear up for next season, Head Coach Arthur O’Connor will begin his first full year at the helm.

O’Connor took over back in December for Dennis Kearney, who resigned as head coach of the program back on Nov. 1 after nine years.

After Friday’s initial pool play, the Panthers qualified for the No. 10 seed in the double-elimination tournament, even with most of their regular starters sidelined.

Upon moving into the losers bracket, Adelphi survived its first elimination match against St. Thomas Aquinas, in a best-of-seven Baker format.

The Brown and Gold averaged a 129.8 in the five Baker qualifying matches, highlighted by a 744-733 win over STAC in their second contest.
