Gray Named to the CIAA Bowling All-Conference Team

BOWIE, Md.Chalia Gray of the Bowie State women’s bowling team was named to the 2022-23 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Bowling All-Conference Team announced by the league office Saturday morning.

The All-CIAA Team was announced during the opening ceremony of the CIAA Bowling Championships in Salem, Va. 

Gray earned the All-CIAA honors after holding an eighth place ranking individually in the CIAA with a team-high average of 165.15 and 5615 total points. The Glen Burnie, Md., native tabbed the Northern Division highest average twice this season.

Under the leadership of Andrew Campbell, the Bulldogs claimed the CIAA Northern Division title with a 44-4 conference record and 36-0 in Northern Division play. It marks the eight consecutive division title for BSU.

Fayetteville State took home the Southern Division title with a 31-2 record against division opponents and 40-2 overall.

No. 1 FSU and No. 2 BSU will be joined by No. 3 Johnson C. Smith, No. 4 Elizabeth City State University No. 5 Shaw, No. 6 Virginia Union University, No. 7 Livingstone College and No. 8 Virginia State this coming weekend.
