NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two of the nation’s best bowling student-athletes have signed papers to attend Vanderbilt University according to an announcement from head coach John Williamson.

Haley Lindley of Greenwood, South Carolina and Natalie Kent of Newark, New York will be enrolling for the upcoming fall semester, continuing Vanderbilt’s tradition of attracting well rounded student-athletes.

“Haley and Natalie are going to be excellent additions to our campus community,” Williamson said. “They are both very good students and have the bowling chops to compete at a high level. They were highly recruited and they were thoughtful about their options. We are confident they are going to fit into our campus and bowling family seamlessly and we look forward to helping them develop.”

Lindley has been dominant nationally for years, earning a spot on the Junior Team USA roster in 2022-23.  She placed fifth at the 2022 Junior Gold and was 13th in 2017. Lindley has numerous national top 10  finishes on the Storm Youth Challenge Tour (SYC) and in multiple state and Pepsi championships along with her division’s state high average for 2020-21 and 2022-23.

In the classroom, Lindley also shined as a member of the National Honor Society with a 4.0+ grade point average throughout her high school career. She is in the top 10% percent of her high school graduating class and a member of the Beta Club.

Kent, the daughter of PBA Hall of Famer Doug Kent, is a three-time top 15 Junior Gold finisher and has multiple Storm Youth Challenge top 10 finishes. She led her high school team to back-to-back state championships and finished second in the Parker Bohn III Scholarship Tournament. Kent was selected on numerous honor teams including the 2021 USA Today High School Bowling Team.

Kent carried a 4.0 grade point average and is in the National Honor Society. She had a busy extra-curricular schedule as the class vice president, yearbook editor, Link Crew member and student council secretary.
