Three student-athletes named to Women's At-Large Academic All-District team


GREENWOOD, Ind. – Three Augustana student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women’s At-Large Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced Tuesday afternoon. Avery Frick (golf), Madelyn Lathrop (bowling), and Grace Loverde (golf) were among those recognized.

2022-23 CSC Academic All-District women’s at-large honorees

Frick, a junior from Geneva, Ill., is a double major at Augustana studying Accounting and Data Analytics. She boasts a 3.55 grade point average and is a three-time Dean’s List honoree. On the golf course, Frick is a three-time CCIW Golfer of the Week this season and closed out the team’s 2022-23 campaign with a first-place individual finish at the Viking Classic in late April. Frick holds school record for lowest single-round score of 67 set at the Highland Classic in September of 2021 and is a two-time All-CCIW performer through three years at Augie.

Lathrop, a sophomore from Sycamore, Ill., is a Pre-Medicine and Public Health double major at Augustana with a minor in Scandinavian Studies. She holds a 3.60 GPA. Lathrop is a two-time All-CCIW bowler and is coming off a season in which she earned her second straight team MVP award in as many years. She finished the 2022-23 slate seventh in CCIW scoring average, sixth in fill percentage, sixth in strike percentage, second in Baker double percentage, and first in anchor fill percentage.

Loverde is a senior from Hawthorn Woods, Ill. and is a Psychology & Communication Studies double major with a 3.78 GPA. She is a Dean’s List honoree and a recipient of the Founders Scholarship, Jack Swartz Award, and GE Aerospace Human Resources Certification. She wrapped up her senior season earning her second straight All-Conference finish at the CCIW Championships, finishing sixth on an individual level.

All three are now eligible for CSC Academic All-American. The voting period will begin this week.
