Razor and Hartgrove earn Player of the Week honors


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Savanna Razor and Payton Hartgrove were rewarded for their efforts at the Colonial Lanes Classic this weekend by being named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Bowler and Newcomer of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Razor earned the honor after being named MVP at the season-opening Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane this weekend as Alabama State finished eighth heading into bracket play. She led all bowlers in the tournament with an average of 224.0, finishing ahead of Kylee Trexler of Louisiana Tech. Razor finished with 1,120 pins, five more than Trexler.
 
Meanwhile, Hartgrove earned Newcomer of the Week after finishing seventh in the tournament. She finished with a 217.00 average in her first collegiate tournament, collecting 1,085 pins over the weekend.
