CROFTON, MD — The Bowie State women’s bowling team picked up where they left off against division foes as the Bulldogs went undefeated to begin the 2023-24 season at the Central Intercolleigate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I at the Crofton Bowling Lanes. The three-day meet which was hosted by Bowie State featured competition against Northern Division opponents as the Bulldogs went a perfect 12-0.
How It Happened
Friday opened up play for Bowie State with straight wins over Virginia Union twice (825-717 and 817-777), Virginia State twice (833-512 and 833-519) and Elizabeth City State (801-507). Olivia Watts rolled a 203 game against the Trojans of VSU while TaVera Johnson spun a score of 196 versus Virginia Union and 192 against Virginia State.
Day two featured similar results with Bowie State winning four-straight. The Bulldogs tacked on a pair of wins over ECSU (813-533, 760-538), a 796-533 performance over VSU and edged VUU, 747-727. Johnson led the day with a total pinfall of 708, including a day-high 206 in the Bulldogs win over the Lady Vikings.
During Bakers, the Bulldogs went without a hitch dismantling its opponents in three-straight led by Johnson who recorded a 212 point game against the Lady Vikings.

The Bulldogs will return to action in 2024 with the CIAA Event II hosted by Livingstone in Concord, N.C. Jan. 26-28.
