Wong Tabbed ECC Rookie of the Week

North Babylon, N.Y. – As Monday’s ECC Bowler of the Week selections reflected upon competition the weekend before the Thanksgiving break, Adelphi University sophomore Tiffany Wong was tabbed the ECC Rookie of the Week.

Wong is off to an exceptional start in her debut campaign on the collegiate circuit.

Most recently, Wong bowled a season-high 198.7 traditional average that placed her second among all ECC bowlers at the widely-renowned UMES Hawk Classic. With several nationally-ranked teams converging on the Eastern Shore, Wong averaged well over nine pins on her first ball and rolled three 200 games — including a 226 that helped knock off No. 12 UMES by seventeen pins.

Wong threw half (30-for-60) of her traditional shots for strikes, in addition to maintaining a blistering 223.3 average when taking the ball in the 10th frame.

Even in the Baker format, Wong posted her highest marks of the season, averaging a 179.4 and converting over sixty percent of her spare attempts.

Wong and the ‘Cats now look to flip the calendar to 2024 and await a trip to Las Vegas, Nev. from Jan. 8-10 for the Stormin’ Blue & White Vegas Classic at South Point Bowling Plaza.
