NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt bowling team will embark on an international trip to Dublin, Ireland, and Paris, France, June 21 to July 4, head coach John Williamson announced Friday.
“We want to provide our student-athletes with as well-rounded experience as possible; it’s one of our primary goals,” Williamson said. “We compete hard—and successfully—but we also want to provide our students with new experiences. This is why we often take our teams on historical and cultural side tours before regular season events and why previous teams enjoyed trips to France, Italy and Australia. We are equally excited for this team to experience Ireland and Paris this summer. These are unforgettable opportunities to learn about a world in which these women will become leaders in the years to come, and we are grateful that our administration makes this possible.”
History of Vanderbilt bowling’s international trips
This is the third trip abroad for the Dores. Vanderbilt became the first NCAA bowling team to take an international trip when it traveled to Paris, France, and Rome and Florence, Italy, in 2012. The team took its second international trip in 2016 to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.
