Fraticelli Bowls Season-High Marks at Wildcat Invitational

New Castle, Del. – Senior captain Blanca Fraticelli did some of her best work yet this weekend to lead the Adelphi University bowling team at Wilmington University’s Wildcat Invitational, hosted at Bowlerama in New Castle.

She not only met season-high averages in both of her Baker and traditional outings, Fraticelli also threw 50.0 percent strikes in Baker and converted 80.0 percent of her traditional spares to earn a mark in almost ninety percent of her bowled frames.

Averaging over nine pins on her first ball throughout the weekend, Fraticelli posted exceptional 207.2 and 194.0 averages in the Baker and traditional competitions, respectively.

As a team, Adelphi made a season-best 75.4 percent (52-of-69) of its traditional single-pin spares. Fraticelli, Brianna Tringali and Carly Wu all shot 80.0 percent or better on their single-pin tries.

Each getting a go as the team’s anchor bowler in the traditional format, Tringali bowled a 212.0 average in the 10th frame, and Wu produced a 198.0 average. Giana Giampapa led all ‘Cats with a 214.0 average.

On the tournament’s final day, the Panthers took care of Dominican and D’Youville in best-of-seven Baker matches, but eventually lost to Chestnut Hill in seven games, after the Griffins rolled a 213 and 232 in their final two games.

Head Coach Arthur O’Connor and his Adelphi squad now prepare to host the third-annual DezyStrong Classic on Saturday, March 2 at Jib Lanes in Flushing, N.Y.
