GASTONIA, N.C. — After fighting through the loser’s bracket Saturday night, Belmont Abbey came out swinging Sunday and cruised to its second straight Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Bowling Championship, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan twice. The Crusaders opened with a 2-0 win in the Mega-Match to force the “if necessary” contest, then took down the Panthers 4-1 in a best-of-seven Baker series.
A year ago, The Abbey was forced to the extra match before sweeping the Bakers en route to the title.
Following the championship, Connor Breaman was named tournament Most Valuable Player, while Lance Owens and Ethan Bell joined him on the All-Tournament Team.
