Bowling Wraps Up 2023-24 Campaign at ECC Championship

Rochester, N.Y. – This time last week, the Adelphi University women’s bowling team began to wrap up its 2023-24 season at the ECC Championship at AMF Dewey Garden Lanes in Rochester.

With the ‘Cats nearly eclipsing a 1,000 series to prevail in the qualifying round against eventual ECC runner-up Bryant University, Adelphi earned a first-round bye in the double elimination portion of the tournament.

Backed by a pair of 226 games, the No. 7 seeded Panthers impressively ousted No. 6 seed Daemen University in five games, in a best-of-seven Baker series. The ‘Cats were previously 1-3 against Daemen this season.

The Brown and Gold were then defeated the following match by Kutztown University in four games, thereby ending Adelphi’s bid at an ECC Championship.

Sophomore transfer Giana Giampapa stepped up and produced a season-high 174.7 Baker average. Nearly averaging nine pins per toss, Giampapa threw 30 total strikes and made a team-high-tying 33 spares across the weekend.

In her final outing as a Panther, Blanca Fraticelli tied Giampapa with her 33 spares, and successfully converted 90.5 percent (19-of-21) of her single-pin attempts, en route to posting a team-leading 176.2 average.

Head Coach Arthur O’Connor and the Panthers have officially concluded their 2023-24 season. Please continue to check back at for more information.
