ARLINGTON, Texas | The Alabama State women’s bowling team will open NCAA Regional play with a play-in match against Belmont-Abbey on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the International Training and Research Center.
The bracket is loaded with three top 10 teams that includes No. 5 North Carolina A&T, No. 7 Louisiana Tech and No. 10 Sam Houston State.
Should the Lady Hornets advance past Belmont-Abbey, ASU will face North Carolina A&T on Friday at 3 p.m. to begin play in the double-elimination bracket.
No. 7 Louisiana Tech and No. 10 Sam Houston State will do battle on Friday at 3 p.m.
The winner of the double-elimination bracket will advance to the Final Four in Allen Park, Michigan on April 12-13.
The Lady Hornets return to the ITRC where they won the school’s third Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowling title under Head Coach Andrew Chatmon. Alabama State defeated d Southern University 4-3, going through the SWAC Championships undefeated.
Savanna Razor was named the SWAC Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament team by teammates Lyric O’Steen, Alahna DeGruy and Emily Price on the All-Touranment Team.
Alabama State claimed five of the top six places in the individual standings..
