'Bama State Athletics Achieves High APR Mark for 2023-24


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | The NCAA’s release today of the 2023-24 Academic Progress Report (APR) again revealed outstanding performance by Alabama State University’s athletics programs.

Collectively, Alabama State earned a 972 APR as a department with all athletic 18 teams achieving a 930 or above.

Overall, seven teams had a perfect, 1,000 single year mark, including men’s cross country, men’s tennis, women’s bowling, women’s basketball, women’s cros country, women’s golf, softball and women’s tennis.

 

Nine teams had a 1,000 for eligibility/graduation, including baseball, men’s cross country, men’s golf, men’s tennis, women’s basketball, women’s cross country, women’s golf, softball and women’s tennis.

 

Men’s country, men’s tennis, women’s basketball, women’s bowling, women’s cross country, women’s tennis, and softball scored a 1,000 on 2023-24 retention. Overall, 12 sports scored 930 or better in the 2023-25 retention and 18 sports had 930 or better on multi-year retention.

The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation of all student-athletes on scholarship and provides a measure of each team’s academic performance.
