Crusaders Capture First Team Title in Program History


BABYLON, N.Y. — Belmont Abbey placed four bowlers in the top 7 overall Saturday, helping the Crusaders to the championship at the Metro Classic hosted by Westchester Community College. The tournament title is the first in the six-year history of the program.

As a team, The Abbey dropped 6224 pins overall, topping Suffolk CC’s 6019.

Individually, Bryce Catahan finished second overall, followed immediately by Brian GarofanoDalton Green and Hunter Hawley were sixth and seventh, respectively. Catahan placed fifth in the singles competition, then teamed with Green for the runner-up position in doubles. Garofano was 10th in singles.
