Las Vegas, Nev. – After two days of qualifying, the Nebraska bowling team will have a third place seed going into the final championship bracket at the Stormin’ Blue & Gold Vegas Classic with a total pinfall of 10,309.
The Big Red started the day off with a loss to No. 1 McKendree (952-1,104). NU then bounced back with wins against No. 9 Louisiana Tech (1,159-1,017) and Daemen (1,105-907). The Huskers fell to No. 11 Maryville in a close matchup (1,006-1,015) before finishing the day with a win against No. 10 Maryland Eastern Shore (1,012-972).
Two Huskers finished in the top 10 individual standings after today’s five traditional matches. Senior Crystal Elliott bowled the overall highest total pinfall of 1,209. Anna Callan also bowled at a high level finishing the day with a total pinfall of 1,096, good for seventh place.
The Huskers will resume play tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. (PST) in a three round best-of-seven baker style championship bracket.
