MONTGOMERY, Ala . –– The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first Alabama State University Hornets Bobblehead.
The release is part of the officially licensed HBCU Bobblehead Series, which features the first bobblehead for 13 different Historically Black Colleges and Universities and coincides with the nation’s celebration of Black History Month.
As a participant of the HBCU Series, Alabama State, and the other featured schools will receive a percentage of the sales for each bobblehead sold from their respective schools.
“We hope the alumni, students, faculty, staff, and entire Alabama State community will enjoy this new Bobblehead,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “Bobbleheads are often passed down from generation to generation, and we think the bobbleheads in this new HBCU Series will certainly become cherished keepsakes.”
The bobblehead will feature the Alabama State mascot decorated in a gold and black outfit with Hornets plastered on the front of the mascot’s Stinger character’s shirt. The figure sits on a base reading Horneys and the signature ASU logo is on the back of the stand.
Each Alabama State bobblehead is individualized, with numbers up to 2,023 etched on the bottom.
Sklar said connecting the series to the year it was unveiled adds to the “collectible value” as owners pass them down from generation to generation.
How to purchase the Alabama State bobblehead
The 2,023 bobbleheads are only available on the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s online store for $35 and an extra $8 for shipping.
