NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt travels to Greensboro, North Carolina, on Thursday to compete in North Carolina A&T’s Stallings Invitational running Friday-Sunday at the AMF All Star Lanes.
The Commodores are the defending tournament champions.
Competing teams
Belmont Abbey, Coppin State, Florida A&M, Howard, Lincoln Memorial, Maryland Eastern Shore, Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Sam Houston State, Texas Southern, Tusculum, Tulane and Vanderbilt.
Delaware State was scheduled to compete but the Hornets were involved in a bus accident en route to the event.

8:55 a.m. CT Friday: 5-game baker matches
8:25 a.m. CT Saturday: Five traditional matches
7:25 a.m. CT Sunday: Three best-of-seven baker matches

Last Season at the Stallings
Vanderbilt won the championship by beating host NCAT 4-2 in the semifinals and coming back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Sam Houston State 4-3 for the title.
Stuck in Second Gear?
In seven tournaments during the 2022-23 season, the Commodores have finished third once (the opener), first once (Prairie View) and second five times.
Last Time Out
The Commodores accumulated a nearly 800-pin lead during the two qualifying days of the Lady Techsters Classic, only to lose in the title match to Sam Houston State. Mabel Cummins won the individual title and was all-tournament along with Amanda Naujokas and Caroline Thesier.
