GASTONIA, N.C. — Belmont Abbey capped a successful day of bowling with a 4-1 victory over No. 5 seed Tusculum Friday night in the first round of the 2023 Conference Carolinas/Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Bowling Championship. Earlier in the day, the Crusaders earned the No. 4 seed during a qualifying round that saw Aubrey tied for fifth in the individual standings.
With their first-ever win in the two-year history of the event, the Crusaders advance to a matchup against top-seeded Kentucky Wesleyan in the second round Saturday at 2 p.m. The double-elimination format concludes Sunday.
