For the fifth consecutive year, Aurora University will be joining in the celebration of NCAA Division III Week April 10-16, 2023. The week is an opportunity for all individuals associated with a Division III institution to recognize the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding communities. The student-athletes competing at Aurora are among nearly 180,000 students who play varsity sports in the NCAA’s largest division.
Approximately 25% of AU students participate on one of our 24 intercollegiate athletic teams, all competing for the game they love. They also excel in the classroom and demonstrate leadership, community service and campus involvement throughout the year. We are proud to join approximately 450 schools and Division III conferences this week in celebrating these accomplishments.
Over 40-percent of Spartan sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes were recognized as scholar athletes (3.25 GPA or higher) within the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association and College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin for the 2021-2022 academic school year.
If you ever wondered why the NCAA Division III logo includes the words discover, develop and dedicate, now you know. The true student-athlete who competes at AU is discovering their potential, developing their passions and dedicating themselves to academic success while preparing to contribute to society.
