MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State University is one of five HBCU schools represented in the National Tenpin Coaches Association 2023-24 Preseason Coaches Poll.
North Carolina A&T is top school entering at No. 4 in the ranks. Delaware State is ranked 23rd followed by Morgan State at No. 25. Alabama State and Fayetteville State also received votes.
The Hornets return a veteran lineup that includes the SWAC Bowler of the Year Savanna Razor along with All-SWA performer Lyric O’Steen. Alahna DeGruy and Emily Price also return to the Hornets’ lineup.
Ohio All-State Bowlers Alexzandria Stewart and Peyton Hartgrove and Iowa Bowler of the year Ammiah Wynn give the Hornets a deep lineup for 2023-24.
Defending National Champion Vanderbilt tops the poll with 51 first place votes followed by Arkansas State, Nebraska, NC A&T and Stephen F. Austin.
