Lady Hornets win three on day two, including upset of top-five team


HANRAHAN, La. | Alabama State evened its record on day two of the 2023 Colonial Classic hosted by Tulane with three wins, including an upset of No. 5 Stephen F. Austin in traditional play.
 
Alabama State dropped the opener on the day to No. 10 Louisiana Tech, 1,010-884 before picking up a win over Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) foe Texas Southern 1,034-915. They followed that match up with a 1,016-982 win over No. 5 Stephen F. Austin before a 906-790 victory over Southern.
 
The Lady Hornets closed out day two of the tournament with a 1,049-1,019 loss to No. 12 UMES>
