HANRAHAN, La. | Savanna Razor earned MVP honors at the season-opening Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane this weekend as Alabama State finished eighth heading into bracket play.
Razor led all bowlers in the tournament with an average of 224.0, finishing ahead of Kylee Trexler of Louisiana Tech. Razor finished with 1,120 pins, five more than Trexler. She was joined in the top 10 by Payton Hartgrove in seventh place while Lyric O’Steen finished 30th overall.
Alabama State (5-7) dropped a 4-1 decision in bracket play to No. 12 UMES on Sunday, winning the first game 184-171 before UMES was able to roll four consecutive games for the win. The Lady Hornets ended the day falling 4-1 to Emmanuel in their second match as they battled back to win game four.
After finishing eighth heading into bracket play, the Lady Hornets ended the tournament in 10th place.
