Spartan bowlers open 2023-2024 season at Warhawk Classic

How it happened

The Aurora University women’s bowling team opened the 2023-2024 season this weekend at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater Warhawk Classic in Madison, Wisconsin. The Spartans bowled seven traditional and seven baker matches over the three days and went 7-7
.

On the first day of the tournament that consisted of traditional format play, the Spartans had a total pin fall for the day, shooting a 4,468 overall and going 2-3 on the day.

Day two was two traditional and three baker matches with AU going 3-2 and shooting a 4,501.

The Spartans would wind up with an 7-7 record for the weekend going 2-2 on the final day of baker matches on Sunday. AU bowled a 3,443 on the third day of the classic.

The high game of the series came in game one from Emilie Pleshar with a 236 with Alyssa Alexander bowling a 235 in the seventh game.

Top Performers

The Spartans had four bowlers finish within the top 15.

Annemarie Ruzevich finished 11th averaging 183.71 over seven games.

Emilie Pleshar finished 12th averaging 182.14 over seven games

Christine Ricci finished 13th averaging 180.43 over seven games

Alyssa Alexander finished 14th averaging 176.14 over seven games

Up Next

Next action for the Spartan women’s bowling program comes on Friday, October 27, Saturday, October 28 and Sunday, October 29 when they travel to the Ebonite Valparaiso University Bowling Classic. The tournament will take place at Stardust III in Dyer, Indiana.
