A-State Sixth After Two Days of Destination Orlando


ORLANDO, Fla. (10/28/23) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team added four more wins and improved to 9-1 at Destination Orlando, but stands sixth among 18 teams with 9,991 total pinfall after 10 matches.

A-State (19-4) dropped its first traditional match of the day 986-878 against Tulane, but won the next four traditional matches to finish out the day. The Red Wolves topped Texas Southern 1,049-935 and Saint Francis 970-778 ahead of wins over Jacksonville State (1,026-998) and Alabama A&M (1,072-962).

Saralyne Nassberg paced A-State individually with 1,088 pins over five traditional matches and she ranked ninth among all players that bowled Saturday. Nassberg rolled four games over 200, including a high of 245 against Texas Southern. Emma Stull downed 1,029 pins with four games over 200. Brooklyn Buchanan totaled 1,025 pins with a high of 243 in game five against Alabama A&M.

Stephen F. Austin is a perfect 10-0 on the tournament and leads with 10,673 pins. Jacksonville State (10,588), Vanderbilt (10,348), Youngstown State (10,148) and Duquesne (10,097) round out the top five teams. 

Two rounds of best-of-seven Baker games begin at 7:30 a.m. (CT) to decide the event champion.
