Claims Wins Over Ranked Teams At TRACK Kat Clash


HOUSTON, Texas | The Alabama State University women’s bowling team claimed three wins over nationally ranked teams and four bowlers in the top 50 at the TRAK Kat Clash over the weekend.
 
Payton Hartgove finished with 1,045 total pins to lead four Lady Hornets in the top 50 with 209.0 average  in 11th place.
 
Lyric Osteen finished 20th with a 197.4 average and Savanna Razor was 31st with a 192.2 average. Alahna Dugruy placed 50th with a 167.0 average followed by Alexzandria Stewart in 78th with a 162.67 average. Emily Price (135.0) and Ammiah Wynn (127.0) finished in 105th and 106th. 
 
Alabama State University claimed 12th place overall with 12,136 pin falls and had a 178.5 average.
 

Louisiana Tech claimed the team tield followed by Sam Houston State, Maryville, North Carolina A&T, Nebraska, Newman, Oklahoma Christian, Lewis, Maryland Eastern Shore, Central Missouri and Southern University.
 
The Lady Hornets had a tough opening day, going 1-4 with a 958-883 win over Lewis University before falling to four ranked teams. ASU fell 12th ranked Maryland Eastern Shore (1002-705), No. 3 Nebraska (1012-806), No. 5 North Carolina A&T (1022-935) and NO. 13 Newman University (1062-897).  
 
Alabama State bounced back on day two in the traditional format, defeating 21st ranked Lincoln Memorial (873 -827) and 2022-23 SWAC Regular Season Campions Southern (958-865).  
 
The Lady Hornets closed the day with a win over eighth ranked Sam Houston State in a five frame roll off. The match ended tied in regulation 943-943 before the Lady Hornets claimed a 129-79 in the roll off.
 
‘Bama State hot day closed with a win over 19th ranked Central Missouri (997-925). The day saw ASU have four young ladies in top 50.
 
Alabama State returns to the lanes at the Jackson State Invitational on Nov. 10-13 in Jackson, Miss.
