LAS VEGAS, Nev. — There was little movement among Vanderbilt’s five representatives in the USBC Team USA Trials Sunday.
Alyssa Ballard ended the 30 games in 32nd place—21st when considering only the amateurs competing for the United States Amateur crown—to lead the Commodore group.
Haley Lindley was 46th overall, one spot ahead of Victoria Varano. Caroline Thesier was 61st and Kaylee Hitt—who had her best day on the lanes—ended in 91st.
Professional Shannon Pluhowsky of Dayton, Ohio, ended the five qualifying blocks in first place while high schooler Gianna Brandolino of Channahon, Illinois, led all amateurs.
Varano, a veteran to Junior Team USA, was announced as an at-large qualifier to the team Monday.
