Bulldogs Open Play at the SWAC West-Round UP


SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS | The Alabama A&M University bowling team opened play at the SWAC West Round-Up on Saturday at the Astro SuperBowl in San Antonio, Texas.
 

Alabama A&M went 3-1 during Saturday’s round and enters Sunday’s final four tied for second with rival Alabama State.

Prairie View A&M finished the day 4-0 with victories over Florida A&M, Jackson State, Texas Southern, and Grambling State giving them the top spot going into Sunday.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

– Alabama A&M’s lone loss came at the hands of Southern, 871-867, as Rose Ugbinada recorded a 185 pinfall.

– In the second matchup, the Bulldogs defeated Grambling State, 802-720.

– Alabama A&M closed out the afternoon with victories over Alabama State (827-797) and Florida A&M (792-658).

– Ugbinda paced the Bulldogs, averaging 180.5 and finishing with a 722 total pinfall

– Narvia Jackson recorded a 701 total pinfinal in four matches, while Tamrya Long finished with a 674

Montaya Walton recorded a 638, and Megan Whorton and Nila Ducli0 rounded out AAMU at 402 and 151, respectively

 

 

UP NEXT

The Bulldogs return to the lanes on Sunday with the final day of the SWAC West Round-Up. Matches will begin at 10 a.m.
